Overview 

The Clinical Research Support Services (CRSS) team at London Health Sciences Centre Research Institute (LHSCRI) provides industry-leading expertise and state-of-the-art clinical facilities at LHSC’s Victoria and University hospitals. They support investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored clinical trials. As a fee-for-service program, researchers can select from a range of services, choosing to contract some or all of the necessary support to successfully conduct their studies. 

Services can be provided at the researcher’s location (including St. Joseph’s Health Care London locations), University Hospital or Victoria Hospital.

Our research services team provides support for clinical trials, including expert coordination and recruitment, with a proven track record in both industry-sponsored and peer-reviewed studies. Our team offers: 

  • Expertise with full service clinical trial support; 
  • Trained and experienced study coordinators; 
  • Experience with both industry-sponsored and peer-reviewed clinical trials; 
  • Highly efficient recruitment capabilities; 
  • An established reputation for quality performance; 
  • Ability to conduct Phase I-IV clinical trials; and 
  • Access to principal investigators across a wide variety of therapeutic areas. 

Experts at CRSS are also available to help researchers through the study activation and approval process. This includes: 

  • Initiation of the study within the LHSCRI approval system; 
  • Clinical research impact, feasibility and quoting; 
  • Site selection and initiation processes; 
  • Preparing the initial ethics submissions through to Research Ethics Board (REB) approval; 
  • Managing post-approval REB documentation including amendments, continuing ethics review and study closeout documents; 
  • Setting up the initial investigator site files and regulatory documentation; and 
  • Budget review and negotiation in collaboration with the contracts department.
